I suppose its kind of silly, but since I don't really have a lot of opportunities to go to really fancy events, the really special days at church end up being kind of a treat.  Its just nice to get to dress fancy with low stakes every once in a while.

I think Dads eyes may be closed in this one, but they were closed in all the ones we had together and this one was my favorite so I went with it anyway.  I wanted to get a picture of Dad, Darla, and me all together cause our color schemes were playing really well off each other, but Darla was busy helping clean up after the church's Easter breakfast during picture time.  (Damn her for being busy doing good deeds when there photos to be taken)

I've had this dress for three or four years and have never worn it.  It was one of the weird situations where I woke up, had everything laid out and ready to go, but once I put it all together just decided I didn't want to wear it all anymore.  So funnily enough in my moment of crisis I threw on this frock-like (is it a frock...I think so?) dress and for the first time since the other million times I've considered it over the years, I thought it was just exactly what I wanted.  And naturally I wore my bunny shoes again, because it just feels silly to have them and not wear them on Easter of all days.

Your Lows Will Have Their Compliment of Highs

First things first I feel the need to post some music in some capacity, I feel like I have been dropping the ball in that department.  Basically, this is my anthem currently.  I first became familiar with it, during my junior year (? - maybe) but then recently have gotten back into it. ( The only down side is that I had a video of the band playing this song live on my birthday last year, but it was on my phone that is known lost forever)  Without further ado,

And oh yah, heres what I wore today...

You may recognize my cropped thermal from a post earlier in February, it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, but I have to try to not over wear it (I problem I have with my bikini shirt as well - at this point I'm dangerously close to sporting it everyday)

(Jeggings from target, keds from ? but they're keds, and thermal from goodwill)

Brace Yourself

I kind of feel like I was so stylish today I might break the internet, but I thought I'd try posting it anyways.  Heres hoping you can handle it...

Maybe I wasn't the most fashionable but I was mad comfortable!

Who Missed the Crimson Apple?

So it snowed today... A LOT, and dropped a great deal of degrees, making the theme of the day - WARMTH.  At the risk of tooting my own horn too much, I feel great pride in a skill that has been up until this point relatively secret (as it should be), and I want to share it.  Over the winters of my life I have gotten really good at layering.  I have found great ways to bundle up without ever looking like you are. Although I am compelled to brag a little and share some strategies, I also feel I have to maintain some amount of mystique.  Instead of revealing the how, I will give a teaser with the what.

Today I am wearing three layers on top and bottom...how?...the world may never know

Those are jeggings on the bottom by the way

Also as you may or may not know I dyed my hair blue on whim last week, I tried to capture it here but it is really hard to tell.  For one thing it is already almost entirely washed out only a week later, and the other it mostly just makes my hair darker then shines blue in the light.  Sorry for the teaser then no real adequate image to back it up.

Also I put another hair wrap in, this is just a glimpse of it, but you get the idea.  I was really happy to find a way to use the crayon beads from my crayon-candy necklace that broke a few months back.  Also I was going through some old drawers over the weekend and discovered the apple necklace I had lost (who even knows when), and couldn't wait to pair it with some new additions to my collection since I last had the fruit on hand.

(jeggings are from platos closet, sweater is from forever21, boots are forever 21)

This is the Hawaiian shirt from my Goodwill trip last week, now you can see it in action.  The leggings are from H&M, yellow hoop earrings from Claire's and shoes from a factory store in downtown Cape Town.

Here's a song for your day as well, here are two sisters (see the connection) with an amazing cover of one of my favorite Robyn songs.

Tea for Two

We thought the Tea Pots were accidentally really romantic

Mom and I went to a Tea Room today, with what we thought was coupon and then turned out to be more like just a suggestion.  It was nice and there were little kids having a princess party, and they were wearing princess dresses and there was even a little boy dressed as a prince.  It was sadly not as good as the Flavor of Britain, the tea room we grew up going too, but it was over all an awesome way to spend a saturday afternoon.

Finally...

So finally here are the pictures we took of the one day we remembered during our very stylish time together for my spring break.  I forgot my camera like the second day so there is little to no evidence of the trip, but this my last and possibly the best day.  So mimi golf sibling time, tah dah:

Jen Turns 20

One of my very best buds turned 20 on Friday and I was gifted with THE GREATEST SHIRT ever known to man.  Best shirt ever, really, I wanna wear it every day and be buried in it.

(sweater from Forever21 mens section, leggings from oldnavy, boots kohls, and shirt from Jen)

Its warming up but still cold enough that flannel is more than appropriate.  The flannel, which depicts archery scenes was picked out for me because it "reminded her of me so much" by my room mate (it is also very reminiscent of my camping scene tapestry).

40˚ and Still Wearing A Bikini

These photos do not 100% represent the awesomeness of this t-shirt because you can't see the belly button ring, but it is there.  (Anyway T-shirt from CVS, leggings from target, and boots from H&M)

Back to Skewl

I am feeling a bit silly for making such a big to do about the outfits on outfits we'd have from our visit, and then ended up forgetting my camera at a friends house on the first day.  I do have photos from one day of the trip, so stay tuned for that.  Until then, here is me on my first day back from spring break.

I could fly away in this sweater
I am really into the idea of power clashing right now but as much as I love it I find it difficult to find the right patterns to go together.  I did this navahoe/western/idontknowhat sweater with a partly cloudy sky with stripes over it patterned romper.

(Sweater from pacsun, romper from nastygal)
